Carbing Up for Salsa Night
Brian and I decided to go to Noodles last night for dinner because he didn’t feel like eating tilapia, which is what I would have made had we stayed in.
I had my usual, chicken pad thai.
Brian had the chicken Caesar wrap with tomato bisque soup, his favorite thing to get there. After dinner we still had plenty of time to go home, have sex, freshen up and get ready for Salsa night. We even made it in time for Salsa lessons. Although, it helped that Gina was running late.
First Time at Noodles in Months
Brian and I went to eat dinner at Noodles & Co the other day. We were supposed to go to the gym, but Brian wasn’t feeling well. We also had some errands to run so I figured we could just do that and cross one more thing off our “to do” list. Besides, how could I say no to Brian? He’s so adorably handsome. Good looking people should always have their way. LOL.
Before you barf, here are some pictures of food…
Brian got the chicken Caesar wrap with tomato bisque soup. It’s his most favorite thing to get at Noodles.
I had shrimp pad thai. I like pad thai so that’s what I usually get there. Most of the time I get it with chicken. Decided to get shrimp this time, though; but I can’t remember why. I think maybe because I had chicken recently. We’ve been eating out way too much lately. At least the weight is staying off.
Noodles & Co in Wichita
When I first found out that a Noodles & Co was opening in Wichita, I was super excited. Brian and I ate at their Country Club Plaza location back in July and loved it. I was glad that I would no longer have to drive three hours just to eat at a Noodles. LOL.
The restaurant actually opened last weekend, December 17. We figured it would be packed, though, so we decided to hold off for a week or so. We were trying to hold out longer, but we just couldn’t resist it. Brian and I went there for lunch on Thursday. It was my day off so I picked him up, brought him to Noodles, and then took him back to work. (And yet he wonders how I managed to use up a quarter of a tank in less than a day.)
We had a lot to do that day and we didn’t want to have to be in separate vehicles so he asked me to take him to work and then pick him up. So much for sleeping in on your day off, right? LOL. I didn’t really care. I wake up early anyway, work or no work. Plus, I had scheduled a 9:00 AM waxing appointment at Beau Monde so I hadn’t planned on sleeping in.
So I took him to work and hung out for a while before my waxing appointment. Went to my parents’ house in Derby to sort out our trip to the Philippines in July, which will likely cost a fortune this year. Managed to talk dad into waiting until the ticket prices go down a bit. Brian is more persuasive than I am, so it helped that he called and talked to dad.
From Derby, I went to pick up Brian downtown and then took him back to Northeast Wichita where the Noodles is located. They were packed that day too, despite having been open several days already. We almost had to take our lunch “to go” and eat at home. Luckily, this nice woman and her son offered us their table. Way to show Christmas spirit!
I took him back to work after lunch and hung out for a while until my 2:45 PM laser appointment. Incidentally, I had originally scheduled it for 10:00 AM so I could just go from Beau Monde to the Kellogg Clinic because they’re within a couple of miles of one another, but I moved it to the afternoon at Misty’s request to accommodate her schedule. However, something came up and she had to cancel anyway. LOL. Getting my appointments done in the morning would have freed my afternoon up so I could help the Feifel’s move in to their new house. I guess it was a blessing in disguise because the afternoon appointment got me out of having to do manual labor.
Even though Misty wasn’t there with me, my laser treatment took a little longer that day because Steve (the nurse practitioner who performs the procedure) had just returned from a trip to the Philippines where he attended his friend’s wedding. Since I’m going in a few months to attend my cousin’s wedding, we got to chatting a little bit. It wasn’t until later that he remembered that I’m a whiny one who needs to be numbed so he had to put numbing cream on me. It needs to stay on for several minutes prior to the laser treatment, so that set us back a while. I think it was almost 4:00 PM by the time we were done. It worked out well because then I could just pick Brian up from work.
We went the Feifel’s to see if we could lend a hand, but everything was pretty much done. It worked out for Brian because he’s not a manual labor kind of guy either. LOL. We got a tour of their new house (which is literally within walking distance from Brian’s parents’ house; it’s in the same subdivision and everything) and hung out for a while. We had packed our workout clothes that morning since we knew we were going to be out and about and so, when we were done visiting, we just went to Brian’s parents’ house to change before picking up Misty and her niece April for Zumba at Andover YMCA.
Later that day Brian was complaining about he had just filled up my car the night before so that I’d have a full tank of gas on my day off and he couldn’t believe that I had used up a quarter of a tank already. I had to remind him that I went back and forth between downtown and Northeast Wichita at least three times in one day, went to Derby and back, and then we went to Southeast Wichita (where his parents’ and the Feifel’s live). It was about a week’s worth of driving in one day. We are lucky that Bebot gets such great gas mileage. =P
Anyway, sorry for getting sidetracked. Noodles is awesome. I love it! You guys should check it out!
P.S. I had the pad thai with chicken (Yum!) and Brian had the spicy chicken Caesar with soup. He said it was delicious!
