Delicious Lunch at Bel Ami
Brian and I had lunch with one of his coworkers on Thursday before he left Wichita to return to Miami. Check out the pictures of our delicious food…
Guess which plate is mine. LOL. It’s too easy because I always order the same thing.
That night, Brian shared with me a conversation that he and his coworker had after lunch.
TOBY: [with sexy accent] Your wife is very sweet and incredibly beautiful. You are a very lucky man.
BRIAN: [with sarcasm] Wait till you get to know her.
Gee thanks, babe! Anyway, bonus points for Toby. You’ve moved up the list and are now officially my #1 favorite of all of Brian’s coworkers.
If Only I Could Forget My Lunch Everyday
Brian and I forgot to bring our lunches on Thursday so we ended up eating lunch that day at Cafe Bel Ami. I went there with Jan and the Verint trainers the week prior and told Brian about it. It had been several years since his last Cafe Bel Ami experience so we decided it was a good option for lunch.
Cafe Bel Ami proved to be a great choice. Brian was not disappointed. He had the Chicken Bel Ami and he said it was delicious! If only we could forget to bring our lunch everyday. LOL.
I had my usual. Bo-ring! I know. It’s really good, though, so I always get it when I’m there. I find what I like and stick to it.
We had the same server that we had the previous week. Brian thought he was pompous. I thought he was just overly formal. He kept calling Jan and I “madam,” which made me feel really old. What cracked me up, though, is that he referred to Brian as “governor.”
I told Brian that if he keeps calling him “governor,” I’m going to have to insist on being referred to as “mayor.” I am, after all, mayor of the place on FourSquare. Brian laughed but managed to avoid spraying his drink all over the place.
“I’ll still out-rank you,” he retorted. Whatever.
Cafe Bel Ami
I got to eat at Cafe Bel Ami a couple of weeks ago. I love, love, love that restaurant except I don’t really get the opportunity to eat there much. Brian and I generally don’t drive into downtown Wichita whenever we think of having dinner, and we can’t really eat there for lunch because it’s not quick. It’s one of my favorite restaurants, but up until we ate there recently it had probably been almost two years since I last ate there.
Isaac told me they usually go there after the managers’ meetings, but I’m excused from that lunch since Brian and I always have lunch together. This last visit made me remember how great their food is and how much I really like that place, and I realized that I’d been missing out. LOL.
This was Isaac’s yummy-looking salmon fattoush. He said it is what he always gets there because it’s very good.
Carmen had the cavatappi carbonara with chicken. It looked delicious also.
I had the seasoned grilled tilapia, which is what I always get, and it was delicious. I absolutely love Cafe Bel Ami. It’s one of my top three favorite restaurants in the downtown area. My other two favorites are Wasabi and Caffe Moderne.
What about you? Have you ever tried Cafe Bel Ami? What are your favorite restaurants?
