One more from Apple.. This was a big hit on Christmas Eve. Brian had at least three helpings!
3-4 bananas
1 large box of instant vanilla pudding
1 package of cream cheese
1 container of whipped cream
2-3 packages of Pepperidge Farm Chessmen cookies
2 cups of milk*
* Apple says she’s actually not sure about the milk measurement. The only thing she is sure of is that you need to use less milk than the directions state on the box of pudding. So if it says 3 cups of milk on the box, only use 2 cups. LOL.
Pour milk into a large bowl. Add pudding. Mix until they’re completely blended. Add the softened package of cream cheese and the whipped cream. Mix until smooth.
Layer the pan with the Chessmen cookies, then add half of the pudding mixture. Add a layer of sliced bananas. Use the remaining half of the pudding mixture on top of the banana layer. Cover the top with another layer of Chessmen cookies. That’s it.
Simple. Easy. No baking necessary. Thanks for the recipe, Apple! Let me know if there is anything I need to change on this one also.
P.S. Jennifer Cannady and Brian thought this dessert dish would be even better with a layer of chocolate pudding in the middle. We might have to just try it. Chocolate and bananas sounds like a winning combination.
UPDATE: We made this already. You need only 2 cups of milk instead of 3. Also, it’s better to make it the night before you are to eat it because the cookies are softer.
