Granite City – West
I don’t know what it is, but I just love mussels!
When Brian and were at Granite City the other day, I decided to try the Seafood Scampi on their specials menu. It said mussels on the description and I just couldn’t resist. The dish itself was okay. I liked the shrimp and the mussels, but I felt indifferent about all the other seafood stuff they threw in there. I don’t care much for squid unless it’s in the form of fried calamari or adobong pusit. LOL.
I’m not sure what possessed Brian to order a burrito. It came out and it was huge!
If you are wondering what we were doing all the way out West on such a crummy day (it was windy and gloomy outside), let me explain. There’s this amazing keyboard player who performs out there every other Wednesday, which is one of the nights that I do Zumba. Since I don’t really have any free nights anymore, I figured that I could kill two birds with one stone. Why not do a mystery shop (something I hadn’t done in a couple of months too because we have been so busy) on a Wednesday when I know Charlie will be performing? If I’m going to miss Zumba, might as well make the most of it. Right?
As luck would have it, the weather would not cooperate. The live entertainment, which would have been on the patio, was canceled for the evening. I would have bailed on the mystery shop and just done Zumba instead, but I’m a woman of my word and I always make good on all my commitments. So there we were, on a crummy Wednesday evening, consuming calories that should have never been consumed, without Charlie’s beautiful music to console us. LOL.
On the bright side, even though dinner cost $50 (and a few extra workout sessions), I should get reimbursed for about half of that. I’ll just have to take a hit on the calories. (Sorry, John Wilborn.)
